i hope everyone remembered that we were not meeting sunday night due to the fall retreat. but we had a great time at kalahari and will hopefully have pictures up on the website as soon as we can.
the focus of the trip was to retreat, recharge, and reconnect. read through the gospels and count how many times you read about Jesus taking time to get away and pray or just to retreat to a solitary place. so often we get caught up with school, work, tensions at home, being stuck in a routine, and we can’t ever seem to get recharged. sometimes it’s important just to get away. it gives you a chance to take a deep breath you wouldn’t have taken at home.
so the goal became figuring out how to help you recharge. it was a pretty slow weekend so take an hour to sit and read, take time for a nap, spend time with people, or maybe it was important just to have some fun. all of those can provide a great opportunity to connect with God and with the people around you.
sorry for those of you who missed out this weekend. but remember that from time to time….you need to break away so you have a chance to recharge.
